Notre Dame is taking on Clemson right now in the College Football Playoff. The Irish finished the regular season 12-0 for the second time under Brian Kelly.
In the fourth week of the season, Kelly made a gutsy decision to replace starting quarterback Brandon Wimbush with backup Ian Book. Wimbush was 12-3 as a starter in his career at the time, but the Irish offense was struggling.
Book stepped in and played fantastic football for the remainder of the season. He entered today with 2,468 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 70 percent of his passes.
Off the field, Book's relationship seems to be going as steady as his play on it. He is currently in a relationship with a young woman named Ashton Boyd.
Boyd herself has posted several recent shots of the happy couple, including one on Christmas.
Notre Dame and Book are currently tied with Clemson 3-3 late in the first quarter in Arlington, Tex.
