Recap: Notre Dame Storms Back To Demolish St. John's

Irish silence the Storm in South Bend.

Score: No. 24 Notre Dame 66, St. John's 40

Star: Notre Dame: Jerian Grant 21 Pts, 8 Ast, 3 Reb, 3 Stl.

Story: Throughout the first half, momentum seemed to be moving in St. John's favor; the Red Storm blocked six shots while Notre Dame only shot 28% from the field. Things completely turned around in the second half, however, when sharp shooting by the Irish (68%) ignited a 24-3 run.

Grant's scoring ability, along with Jack Cooley's work on the boards (13 Reb), secured a blow-out victory for Notre Dame as the Irish avenged a loss to the Red Storm earlier in the season. A heated exchange (with punches thrown) between Notre Dame's Cameron Biedscheid and St. John's Sir'Dominic Pointer led to ejections for both players at the very end. It is unclear who initiated the altercation, so it will be interesting to see if penalties are given to either player on the eve of the postseason.
