Reports: Former Notre Dame Running Back Greg Bryant Jr. In Critical Condition After Shooting

Update No. 2: Bryant Jr.'s family confirmed to CBS 12 reporter Lynda Figueredo Sunday afternoon that the former Notre Dame running back has passed away from his injuries. 

Update: Despite reports that Bryant had passed away, his former High School coach says that he is still alive. We will keep you updated as we learn more.

Earlier: This morning, the Twitter account for American Heritage Delray Beach Football tweeted that its former star running back Greg Bryant Jr., a current UAB Blazer who started his college career at Notre Dame, is in critical condition. According to multiple reports, he was one of two people shot in an incident on I-95 late last night.

From the Palm Beach Post report on the shooting, which has not yet confirmed the identities of the two victims:

Two men were found shot in a car in the southbound lanes of Interstate-95 Saturday morning, according to West Palm Beach police.

The men, who have not been identified, were found in a car between the Southern Boulevard and Forest Hill Boulevard exits of I-95 around 4:45 a.m., police said. The pair were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center with gunshot wound injuries.
