One of the top matchups on the Week 5 college football schedule features a pair of ranked teams: No. 18 Virginia at No. 10 Notre Dame.

The Cavaliers are 4-0 and looking to prove they are worthy of a top-15 ranking. They're also aiming to establish themselves as the second-best team in the ACC behind Clemson.

Notre Dame, meanwhile, is 2-1 after losing at Georgia last week, but the Irish did put up a strong showing in defeat. Quarterback Ian Book's overall play this year has been categorized by fits and starts, and he no doubt would love to get going this Saturday.

Each week, Associated Press college football writer Ralph Russo offers up his predictions for the biggest games.

Here's his pick for Notre Dame-Virginia

Player you should know: Virginia LB Charles Snowden, who had 15 tackles and two sacks last week in a win over Old Dominion ... NOTRE DAME 24-16.

These two teams last met in 2015, when Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer led a last-minute drive to avert an upset loss in Charlottesville. You might recall that is the game that gave us the infamous "Sad Virginia fan."

Kickoff for this game is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
