Urban Meyer Says Jaylon Smith The "Best" Player OSU Watched On Tape The Past Few Years

Former Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith suffered a devastating knee injury in the Fiesta Bowl this past year, tearing both his ACL and his LCL. His draft stock certainly fell due to the injury, but surprisingly, the Dallas Cowboys took a shot on him at No. 34 overall tonight. Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer seems to think the Cowboys got a solid player.

Meyer, on the NFL Network, told viewers that Smith is the "best player" Ohio State has watched on tape the past few years. Considering Meyer has watched Alabama, Oregon, Michigan State and a number of other top programs, that's high praise.

">@nflnetwork...just said Jaylon Smith was the best player Ohio State staff watched on tape in the past few years.

Smith likely won't play in 2016, but it'll be interesting to see what he can do a year from now. If he recovers, the Cowboys will have gotten a steal.
