When Notre Dame and Michigan play, crazy things happen -- tonight's matchup has all the makings of an instant classic brewing.
With Michigan leading 34-20, Devin Gardner dropped back to pass, but soon found himself under serious pressure from Irish safety Austin Collinsworth. Gardner retreated into the end zone and tried to throw the ball away instead of taking a safety. However, he threw it straight to a diving Stephon Tuitt, and suddenly the Irish were back within one score.
The play was reviewed and upheld -- here's video:
As Kirk Herbstreit noticed - this is when managing the game is absolutely critical.
