KeiVarae Russell is one of the key Notre Dame players that is sitting out this season due to the academic issues that came out in August. The junior cornerback is still staying in shape and getting a jump on preparation for the 2015-16 Irish season. His goal? To win a national championship next year. He posted a video of himself working out, along with a message to his Notre Dame teammates on Instagram this afternoon.
Russell was a Freshman All-American in 2012, and started all 26 games in his first two seasons at Notre Dame. He will clearly be a big asset for Brian VanGorder's defense next season.
