NFL Fans Convinced Patrick Mahomes Is No Longer League's Best Player
Is Patrick Mahomes no longer the NFL's best player?
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has won three Super Bowls. He's led the Chiefs to a 15-1 record this season. Few people in the league, if any, would take another quarterback over him if you were starting a franchise tomorrow. But is he still the league's best player as we head into 2025?
Some believe that the answer to that question is no.
Who is it instead, then? NFL fans believe that Joe Burrow, after leading the Bengals to an overtime win over the Broncos on Sunday, is now the best player in the NFL.
Burrow, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of LSU, threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday. He ranks No. 1 in the NFL in passing yards with 4,641, No. 1 in the league in passing touchdowns with 42 and ranks No. 3 in the league in QBR with a rating of 76.6
Is he now the best player in the world?

Burrow's head coach, Zac Taylor, certainly believes it.
“I don't know that anybody can stand on the field and watch Joe Burrow and not say that he's the best player in the world," Taylor said after Saturday's win. "I would not trade Joe Burrow for any player in the universe, and to me? That's MVP to me."
Many NFL fans are in agreement - Burrow is the best player in the game right now.
"They will probably give the MVP to Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen —but Joe Burrow is the best player in the league," one former NFL player wrote.
"I know I’m being a prisoner of the moment but man Joe Burrow looks like the best player in ball right now! He operates so efficiently," ESPN's Ryan Clark added.
"Joe Burrow has been the best quarterback in the NFL this year. The Bengals defense just sucks," one fan added.
Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons seems to agree, too. He said that Burrow should get the NFL's MVP award.
"If Joe burrow takes this team to the playoffs I don’t even think it should be in question who’s MVP!! God damm! Best in the world rn!" he wrote.
Burrow and the Bengals will finish the 2024 regular season next Sunday against the Steelers. A TV channel and kickoff time have yet to be announced.
The Bengals need to win and get some help to make the postseason.
