It's usually not in good taste to criticize someone for how they choose to present themselves in public. But an exception absolutely has to be made for one particular fan at a recent MLB game.

During yesterday's game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium, cameras panned to a fan in the crowd wearing a Red Sox jersey. That wouldn't have been so out of the ordinary were it not for the fan's choice of headwear.

The fan decided to wear a New York Mets hat at the same time. Clearly the fan has no love lost for the Yankees whatsoever, but that's the kind of fashion statement that will get you disavowed by both Mets fans and Red Sox fans.

Naturally, the image has gone viral with thousands of fans commenting on the absurd scene. Just about everyone expressed admiration for how much the guy hates the Yankees:

"Honestly I have to respect a guy who’s fandom is so clearly motivated by spite," one fan said in a retweet.

"All he needs is an Astros shirt under that and he’d be the ultimate Yankee Hater," wrote another.

"I never seen someone so dedicated to being a hater," a third fan said.

One person in the retweets claims that the man is a big time Mets fan who lost a bet and had to wear a Red Sox jersey to a Yankees game. But the man decided to troll Yankees fans by wearing his Mets hat anyway.

Whatever the case may be, it's a wild scene.
