Tyler Glasnow's comeback quickly hit a snag.

According to the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkins, the Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher suffered an oblique injury six pitches into Monday's live batting practice session. While he'll undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Glasnow is expected to miss time.

The baseball world reacted to Glasnow's latest setback.

"Dude cannot catch a break," a fan wrote on Twitter.

"Bummer," Covers' Andrew Caley said. "Love watching Glasnow pitch."

"The guy is talented but seems to be hurt all the time," Paul Zeise of 93.7 The Fan said.

"Prayers up for Tyler Glasnow," a fan wrote. "Poor dude has been through so much the last few years, just can’t catch a break. Such a talent, but injury luck is never fair."

"Tough news to see for sure," Mike Cairns of Bay News 9 said. "Fingers crossed."

He's looked like a burgeoning ace when healthy, but Glasnow has struggled to stay on the mound. He posted a 2.66 ERA in 2021 before suffering a season-ending injury after 14 starts.

The righty missed nearly all of 2022 recovering from Tommy John surgery, returning just in time to throw five shutout innings in a postseason start.

From a glass-half-full perspective, at least Glasnow didn't hurt his throwing arm again. And it's better this happened in February than during the summer.

Glasnow has never pitched more than 111.2 innings in a single season, so the 29-year-old was likely never going to make 30 starts anyway. The Rays will proceed cautiously to make sure he's healthy and available later this season.
