Yankees Announcer Reveals His 'Gut Feeling' On Juan Soto's Decision

Juan Soto is the biggest name on the free agent market in Major League Baseball this year, and for good reason.

The 26-year-old is arguably the best hitter in baseball, and helped the Yankees reach their first World Series in over a decade last season. Soto is already a champion after winning in 2019 with the Nationals, and several teams around the league are looking to add him this winter.

Soto is reportedly considering a few teams as his decision draws closer, but one Yankees broadcaster is revealing their "gut feeling" on where the talented outfielder will end up next season.

During an appearance on the Michael Kay Show, Jack Curry of the YES Network said that he thinks Soto will return to the Yankees if they present him with a competitive offer, which all signs indicate they've done so far.

Bringing Soto back would be a massive win for the Yankees, who traded for the star outfielder before the 2024 season. The Yankees pulled the trigger on a deal with the San Diego Padres for Soto, who acquired him in a big deal of their own with the Washington Nationals two years prior.

Soto, a four-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger winner, hit 41 home runs and drove in 109 runs with the Yankees last season. He led the American League in runs with 128, and finished third in MVP voting behind Bobby Witt and his teammate Aaron Judge.

The Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers are the teams that have seriously pursued Soto so far this offseason, and he'll need to decide between them over the next few weeks.

The Yankees and Dodgers each made the World Series last year, and they give Soto the best chance to win if that's his main priority. The Mets were a few wins away from beating the Dodgers in the playoffs, and owner Steve Cohen has shown a willingness to spend on top talent.

The Red Sox and Blue Jays aren't contenders currently, but with Soto they would be destinations for other top free agents as long as their front offices are willing to spend.

We'll see what happens, but for now it seems that the Yankees and those close to the organization believe that Soto will be returning in 2025 and beyond.
