Beloved NFL Coach Buddy Ryan Passes Away At 82

Buddy Ryan, an NFL coach for nearly 30 years, passed away this morning. He was 82. 

The father of twin NFL coaches Rex and Rob, Buddy Ryan was known as a defensive guru and helped lead three different teams to the Super Bowl as an assistant coach (Bears, Jets, Vikings). He is known for implementing the 46 defense. 

Buddy Ryan was a head coach for seven seasons (five with the Eagles, two with the Cardinals) and compiled a 12-20 record.

Ryan was a coach in the NFL for 28 seasons.

He was battling cancer and suffering from the aftermath of a stroke.
