Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson running for president isn't as crazy as it sounds.
Earlier today,GQ published a profile of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, which delves into the usual profile topics: Johnson's childhood, how he spends it time—the standard stuff. However, one part of the interview that stood out concerned a potential presidential run from the former wrestler-turned-actor. Could he run for president in 2020? According to Johnson, it's not out of the question.
Since then, Johnson tells me, he's given the question more thought. “A year ago,” he says, “it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’ I didn't want to be flippant—‘We'll have three days off for a weekend! No taxes!’”
When asked straight up whether he would run, though, he said, "I think that it's a real possibility,”
So there you have it.
To be honest, it wouldn't really be that far-fetched, especially at this point. Donald Trump had no government experience prior to the election and won in an upset over Hillary Clinton. What's to say The Rock couldn't do the exact same thing?
