The Northern Trust has not been lacking for drama. Whether it's Tiger Woods' disheartening withdrawal or more slow golfing controversy, this weekend has not been lacking for headlines.

But the latest piece of drama to emerge from Liberty National Golf Club involves Brooks Koepka and Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee.

According to, Chamblee recently accused Koepka of standing in Rory McIlroy's line of sight during a round. Koepka took to Twitter on Sunday to respond, jabbing Chamblee by saying the analyst might shank the shot in that situation.

Don’t worry I wasn’t in the way @chambleebrandel . If it was you playing I would never stand there. Since it’s Rory I felt pretty confident he wouldn’t shank it

This isn't the first time that Koepka and Chamblee have exchanged barbs though.

Chamblee has criticized Koepka in the past for various slights, but the two really came to a head in May. Koepka, finally having had enough of Chamblee's criticism, posted a photoshopped picture of Chamblee wearing a clown nose.

Koepka has had a solid performance at the Northern Trust, but has been unable to separate himself from the pack. He's currently -3 through five holes and -8 overall. But he's still a full six strokes off tournament leader Patrick Reed.

Golf drama may not have the zaniness of NFL drama, but it's still quite a sight to behold.
