Former President Donald Trump officially released a statement on Tuesday following his friend Tiger Woods' car accident in California.

Woods suffered multiple leg fractures in the crash on Tuesday morning, which happened after he lost control of his car while driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle rolled over "several" times.

As of this morning, Woods is alert and recovering in an LA hospital. Yesterday afternoon, Donald Trump released a get well message to the 45-year-old golfer.

"Get well soon, Tiger. You are a true champion!" the statement reads.

Woods and Trump have played golf together numerous times and have been friends for a while. In May 2019, Trump presented Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in America.

Since news of his accident broke, Tiger Woods has received public support from a pair of former presidents. In addition to Trump's statement, Barack Obama also released a message for Woods on Tuesday.

At this time, Tiger is just beginning his recovery. It's too early to know if he'll ever play competitive golf again, but we're just hoping he can resume a normal life.
