Another golf tournament, another controversy for Patrick Reed.
The 2018 Masters champion has been involved in some notable on-the-course controversies over the years. We had another one take place on Saturday.
Reed, 30, picked up what he believed to be an embedded ball at the par-four 10th at Torrey Pines on Saturday. The PGA Tour star later revealed that an officials expert told him that he handled the situation perfectly.
Of course, there were many on social media who disagreed.
Popular social media golf personality Paige Spiranac reacted to the situation on Twitter.
"A lot of shady rules infractions happen with Reed. It’s not just a coincidence anymore," she tweeted.
Spiranac then agreed that Reed handled the situation well, though she admitted she might have done things differently.
"Agree. Except whenever I was ever in doubt I would never touch or pick up my golf ball until a rules official was there to help me decide my next step," she wrote.
Reed is currently tied for the lead at the Farmers Insurance Open at -10. The final round of this weekend's tournament is scheduled to air on CBS later this afternoon.
