Paige Spiranac, the popular golfer with 1.7 million followers on Instagram, will be taking part in a special challenge at a PGA Tour event next week.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic, set to be played in Detroit next week, will be having a celebrity event on the Tuesday before the tournament.

The "AREA 313 Celebrity Challenge" will feature three teams headlined by star golfers and include several notable celebrities.

Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson will lead the three teams.

Spiranac will be on Team Johnson. Here are the three squads:

Team Bubba will feature:

  • Bubba Watson
  • Detroit Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard
  • Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo
  • World Long Drive Champ Troy Mullins

The Detroit News had some more details on the challenge:

The Celebrity Challenge will take place Tuesday, June 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. on hole Nos. 14, 15 and 16.

PGA Tour stars Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson each will be joined by three celebrities. They will play those three holes in a scramble format with the aim of scoring a 3 (eagle) on No. 14, a 1 (hole-in-one) on No. 15 and a 3 (birdie) on No. 16 — hence tournament organizers dubbing the three-hole stretch AREA 313, a nod to Detroit's memorable area code.

Any pros who are able to go 3-1-3 on the three-hole stretch during the course of the tournament will trigger a $313,000 payout to charity, half of which the pro gets to designate the beneficiary.
