Brooks Koepka is headed into another major tournament as one of the favorites to win the event. He’s finished at least tied for second in five of the last six majors – and he’s primed to do it again.
He enters The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland as one of the favorites to win the year’s final major. The four-time major champion has the second-best odds to win, trailing only Rory McIlroy – who holds the course record at Royal Portrush.
Koepka made headlines earlier this week when he revealed he doesn’t practice for normal tournaments. The world No. 1 said he only practices for major tournaments – which would explain why he dominates them.
After finishing second to Gary Woodland in the U.S. Open last month, Koepka was not happy.
“Finishing second sucks, it really does. But you’ve got to get over it and realize that any time you put yourself in contention, you learn from it and move on.”
Koepka’s girlfriend, Jena Sims, is certainly ready for the tournament.
