Last weekend, Tiger Woods had a disappointing performance at the Northern Trust. He withdrew from the tournament before teeing off in the second round due to tightness in his back.
This year has been inconsistent for Woods, who won the Masters back in April. Since his magnificent performance at Augusta National, the legendary golfer has seen his production decline.
Following last week’s showing at the Northern Trust, Woods sits outside the top 30 in points in the FedEx Cup.
In order to make the projected cut for the Tour Championship, Woods most likely needs to finish 11th or better this week at the BMW Championship.
Between fighting off his back injury and overall fatigue, clinching a spot in the Tour Championship won’t be an easy task for Woods. However, it should give him the necessary motivation to play each hole with a sense of urgency.
At least, that is if Woods does indeed tee off at the opening round of the event.
According to the Tour projections: Tiger likely needs a solo 11th or better this week to advance to the Tour Championship.

Woods won the Tour Championship back in 2018 to validate his comeback to the PGA.
He’ll have to battle against a loaded field this week if he wants to try and win the event in back-to-back years.
Do you think Tiger Woods will advance to the Tour Championship?
