At three over par on the day through 12 holes, Brooks Koepka is all but out of the Open Championship. But his partner during Sunday’s outing is having an even worse day – and it seems to be getting under Koepka’s skin.
On Sunday, Koepka was partnered with J.B. Holmes, who came into the final day of the competition at -10 and in third place on the leaderboard. But despite having a shot at a top-three finish, Holmes has absolutely melted today.
Holmes lost just about all of his progress by going plus-seven on the front nine, with four bogeys and a double-bogey. The back nine got off to an even worse start with a triple-bogey on the 11th and another double-bogey on the 12th.
It’s not Holmes’ poor play that is frustrating Koepka, though. It’s his ridiculously slow play on the course that has bothered many outside of Koepka.

Koepka has grown even more frustrated as the day has gone on. On the 12th hole, he apparently stared at an Open official and made a gesture at his non-existent watch.

The four-time major winner has been having a meltdown of his own on Sunday, which may be contributing to his frustration with Holmes.
Koepka started the day with four straight bogeys on the front nine, only partially balanced out by an eagle on the 5th hole. He started back nine just as sourly with a bogey on the 11th.
Through 13 holes, Koepka sits at -6 overall, a full nine strokes off tournament leader Shane Lowry.
