The second major tournament of the year is scheduled to tee off on Thursday morning. As the world’s best golfers flock to Long Island for the upcoming PGA Championship, one golfer is in need of a new driver.
PGA tour veteran Pat Perez hit the driving range for a warm-up before his practice round on Wednesday and hit a very unfortunate shot.
As Perez swung through, the head of his driver popped off and down the range.

It looks like Perez will need to hit the pro shop before his round on Thursday.
Perez is scheduled for a 1:27 p.m. ET tee off time on Thursday afternoon. He’ll be up a little earlier on Friday morning for his second round when he tees off at 8:02 a.m. ET.
The Phoenix native is a long shot in this year’s PGA Championship, going at 200-1 to win the tournament. His best finish at a major came in the 2005 PGA Championship when he finished tied for sixth place.
In 2018, Perez finished in the top-36 at the U.S. Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship. He failed to make the cut at the Masters, however.
Stay tuned for the latest from the PGA Championship – which tees off Thursday morning.
