Video: Kentucky Coach Mark Stoops Goes Off On His Team, Says Spread vs. South Carolina Should Be Higher

Update: Here's video, via the Lexington Herald Leader. Stoops says his guys aren't "tough enough" and thinks they aren't ready for the South Carolina game.

Earlier: It's no secret that Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops inherited a team and a program that was used to losing football games. But he clearly doesn't want his players to accept it as the norm.

Stoops went off on his team after practice today, even going as far as to suggest that South Carolina, UK's opponent this Saturday, should be favored by more than 21 points. KyForward's James Pennington tweeted out a few quotes:

The Wildcats have opened the season at just 1-3, though to be fair, two of those losses have come to ranked teams (Louisville, Florida).

Whether this is a motivational tactic or how Stoops truly feels about his players, it's obvious that he cares about turning the program around. Things don't ease up for the Cats next week either - Alabama comes to Lexington on October 12th.
