The 2018 MLB season has been filled with nasty weather, unbelievable plays, and unfortunately, a few injuries to star players. That bad news continued Wednesday afternoon as Atlanta Braves pitcher Anibal Sanchez was carted off the field.
Sanchez reportedly fell to the field after a non-contact injury and laid there for a few minutes while Braves training staff examined him. The pitcher needed to be carted off the field, ahead of the team's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Sanchez reportedly went down as he was running in the outfield.
The Atlanta Braves announced Sanchez has been placed on the 10-day DL with a hamstring strain.
Sanchez was off to a tremendous start in 2018, with a 1-0 record and a 1.29 ERA in three games, including two starts. His replacement, Johan Camargo suffered a freak injury last season while running onto the field.
Hopefully the Braves can stay healthy throughout the rest of the season.
