On Thursday night, most of the nation's attention was focused on the preseason NFL action.
However, as playoff baseball draws near, several tight races have piqued the nation's interest as well. Among the teams in the hunt are the Philadelphia Phillies.
The team shelled out major money to land star outfielder Bryce Harper - who is in the midst of a down year.
Despite his struggles this season, Harper came up big for the Phillies on Thursday night against the Chicago Cubs.
With the team trailing 5-3 and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, Harper launched a walk-off grand slam into the upper deck.
He then proceeded to sprint around the bases in an interesting fashion. That caught the eye of his wife, Kayla, who commented on the running style.
"Never have I ever seen him do this grinch like sprint but it’s a vibe I never knew I needed," she said.
The Phillies have won three-straight games and now sit just one game out of the second wild card spot in the National League.
Harper's former team, the Washington Nationals, currently occupy the first NL wildcard spot. We'd love to see Philly face off against the nation's capital in a one-game playoff.
