Cubs, Indians Now In Rain Delay Tied 6-6 In The 10th Inning

The tarp on the field for the Cubs vs. Indians game.

Baseball fans will have to wait just a bit longer to find out which team will win this year's World Series.

As if Game 7 of this year's World Series didn't already have everything - now we've got a rain delay. With the Cubs and the Indians knotted at 6-6 in the top of the 10th inning, the umpires made the decision to send the grounds crew out onto the field to cover the infield. It's a decision that clearly came with controversy.

There's no word yet on when play will resume, but FOX is reporting that the umpires will not call the game tonight.

As a reminder, the Cubs are looking to clinch their first World Series title since 1908. The Indians are looking for their first championship since 1948.

Update: FOX is reporting that play is scheduled to resume at 12:15 a.m. ET.
