Cubs parade route: here's where you can catch Chicago's huge celebration on Friday afternoon.
The Cubs are World Series champions for the first time since 1908, and it looks like a few fans of the team have decided to take off Friday to celebrate the accomplishment. Chicago expects that five million people (!) will be in attendance for the team's victory parade. Obviously, that's a crazy number.
The celebration begins at 10 a.m. CT, as the team will travel from Addison and Sheffield to Pine Grove.
The parade, which is set to begin at 11:00 a.m CT, will begin, of course, at Wrigley Field, site of the Cubs' home stadium. The parade will then head south along Michigan Avenue from Oak Street to Ohio Street. It will then head to Columbus Drive and south to Balbo Avenue.
At Noon, there will be a celebration at Lower Hutchinson Field.
As you can see, fans have been ready all morning.
Given the long layoff between titles, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Chicago fans have packed the streets to pay homage to the team. It's been a long time coming.
Let's hope all stay safe - it's going to be quite a scene.
