Justin Verlander made history during his Houston Astros start on Saturday, reaching the iconic 3,000 career strikeouts mark, along with 300 Ks on the season.
The 36-year-old starter becomes the 18th major league pitcher to reach 3,000 career strikeouts and the 19th pitcher in the modern era (since 1900) to get to 300 strikeouts in a season.
Perhaps most impressively, Verlander became the third pitcher aged 36 or older to reach 300 strikeouts in a season, joining Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson.
Kate Upton is one proud wife.
The supermodel tweeted a message for her star pitcher husband.
“YOU NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME!” she tweeted. “Congrats on your 3,000th strikeout AND your 300th strikeout this season alone! I’m so proud of you.”

Upton and Verlander could be doing some more celebrating next month.
The Astros enter the 2019 MLB postseason as the No. 1 seed in the American League and arguably the overall favorite to win the World Series.
