We're already well into February and star free agents Manny Machado and Bryce Harper remain on the free agent market. Pitchers and catchers have already reported to spring training, but two of the biggest names in baseball still don't even have a team.

There's been little talk of a contract for both Harper and shortstop Manny Machado. Until now.

A new report from MLB insider Jim Bowden suggests Harper could be signing with his new team "shortly." According to the report from Bowden, the Philadelphia Phillies are gaining momentum on a potential free agent acquisition of the Washington Nationals star.

Here's more from Bowden.

"I keep hearing there's a lot of momentum and traction here on [Bryce Harper] going and signing with the Philadelphia Phillies. He could be rounding third and heading home shortly," Bowden said on Saturday.

The Phillies have been the team most consistently mentioned for Harper, but don't count out the Nationals re-signing their star player.

According to Bowden, the Phillies and Nationals are the two favorites to sign Harper - with the Phillies being the clear front-runner.

Bowden suggests Harper will walk away with a 10-year deal worth over $300 million. Harper hit .249/.393/.496 with 34 home runs, 34 doubles and 100 RBI last season last year.
