Former MLB Star Otis Nixon Has Reportedly Been Found Safe

Former Major League Baseball player Otis Nixon has been found safe.

Sunday, police in Woodstock, Georgia asked the public for its help in locating former Major League Baseball player Otis Nixon, who had been missing since leaving for a golf outing on Saturday. Monday, it was revealed that Nixon has been found - and is safe. It's great news, obviously.

Nixon, who played 17 years in the majors, had a local tee time set for Saturday morning. He apparently hadn't been seen since leaving for the round. According to, police received tips from the public after issuing the alert.

Woodstock Police public information officer Brittany Duncan said the department had received a “decent number” of tips after it posted alerts on social media seeking information in the case.

Nixon, who is now 58 years old, played for the Braves, Expos, Yankees, Indians, Red Sox, Rangers, Blue Jays, Dodgers and Twins during his career. He batted .270 and stole 620 bases. A number of Nixon's formers teammates - like Chipper Jones - helped spread the word on his disappearance.

It's currently unclear what led to Nixon's disappearance - or whether he was ever in any kind of trouble. We'll update this post as more information becomes available.
