Pedro Martinez Apologizes For Stereotypical Imitation Of Native Americans On TBS Broadcast

Pedro Martinez is typically great as a baseball analyst for TBS. Monday night, he wasn't.

Pedro Martinez, in what he later said was an attempt to congratulate the Indians on their 3-0 sweep of the Red Sox, did a pretty stereotypical imitation of Native Americans on TBS' post-game show.

"I used to hunt Indians," he says, "but now, I'm going to pay tribute to the Indians." He then did this:

Martinez took to Twitter shortly after this happened, apologizing if his tribute was misunderstood. "I send my apologies if I was misunderstood when I was trying to pay tribute to the Cleveland Indians on the TBS post season show. I was referring to my pitching years facing Cleveland. Nothing else. Again, my apologies," he wrote.

TBS has yet (or won't) comment on the incident.

The Cleveland Indians are set to face the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Championship Series. The ALCS starts in Cleveland Friday at 8 p.m. E.T.
