Eastbank Little League from River Ridge, Louisiana thumped Curacao 8-0 in yesterday's Little League World Series title game. It was the second-straight LLWS championship for an American team.

The Eastbank crew will be feted with a parade back home this week, but they also might have a trip to Washington, D.C. on their schedule at some point. It seems they have been invited to the White House.

After yesterday's win, United States Representative Steve Scalise (R-LA) congratulated the River Ridge team on his personal Twitter account. He also tagged President Donald Trump in the tweet and suggested a trip to the White House.

President Trump responded and extended an invite.

"Congratulations to Louisiana’s Champions. See you at the White House!" his tweet read.

We'll see if this trip comes to fruition in the coming weeks. The Louisiana kids are probably in the middle of school right now, but a trip to D.C. and the White House sounds like a good excuse to skip some days.

Not bad for a team that was Louisiana's first-ever representative in the LLWS and lost its first game before running the table and winning the title.
