President Donald Trump reportedly called former New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and his fiancee Jennifer Lopez for some advice this week.

According to a report from ABC News, Trump phoned the couple to get their thoughts on the administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic. Katherine Faulders of ABC News described the call as part of "Trump’s continued outreach across the country about the virus."

Neither Rodriguez or Lopez were asked to have an official role. However, Faulders noted her source said the call with the president was "pleasant."

Trump has been criticized for his response to the pandemic over the past few weeks. It looks like he's widening his approach. Faulders noted Trump "spent much of his week speaking to business leaders and others about how the country is handling the pandemic."

A-Rod is involved in the New York business scene, but he's not a medical professional. The former MLB star also broadcasts games for ESPN - though that's on hold right now.

Not long after the report emerged, President Trump responded, saying "More fake news."

All things considered, this is one of the more interesting headlines of 2020 - and beyond.

It's been a wild year and we're only three months in.
