Seattle Mariners Catcher Says 'Black Lives Matter' Protestors Should Be "Locked Behind Bars Like Animals"

Seattle Mariners catcher Steve Clevenger is in some hot water for what he tweeted Thursday afternoon.

Steve Clevenger, the backup catcher for the Seattle Mariners, took to Twitter Thursday afternoon in response to the riots taking place in Charlotte after the death of Keith Lamont Scott at the hands of police. Unfortunately, he went a little overboard in expressing some of his beliefs.

Clevenger, in a series of tweets, called the Black Lives Matter movement "pathetic." He called Barack Obama "pathetic." He implied that everyone involved in the BLM movement should be "locked behind bars like animals." He also took a shot at Colin Kaepernick.

Clevenger, predictably, has been getting blasted for his actions. He's also issued an apology.

The Seattle Mariners issued a statement Thursday night, distancing themselves from Clevenger's views.

We'll see if there's any further fallout.
