Video: Benches Clear During Cubs-Reds Game In Cincinnati

The Cubs and Reds cleared benches during Saturday afternoon's game.

The Cubs and the Reds are playing their second series of the season in Cincinnati this week. It hasn't taken very long for the rivalry juices to get flowing.

The benches just cleared in this afternoon's contest. No punches were thrown, but it's clearly getting very intense at Great American Ball Park.

Cubs and Reds players ran onto the field in the top of the seventh inning. The Reds were winning, 4-2.

The benches cleared after a Reds pitcher Amir Garrett struck out Javy Baez. The two began to jaw at each other after the play, and eventually came together, though no punches or significant contact was made.

Clearly, Baez wasn't happy with the way Garrett was talking to him after striking him out, though that's the way it goes in baseball.

This is what we get when the Cubs and Reds get together, though - especially given Cincinnati's struggles this year.

It's always going to be intense. This probably will not be the last time the benches clear when these two teams get together.
