Spring training has begun as the MLB season draws closer.
Of course, baseball’s entire off-season story has revolved around the Houston Astros’ cheating scandal. That story won’t end when the season begins in coming weeks, though. This is just the first chapter.
The next page has already begun in regards to how those who were involved in the scandal are treated by fans attending Astros games. Our first glimpse into that treatment took place on Monday afternoon at a Houston spring training game against the Detroit Tigers.
As Astros second baseman Jose Altuve took to the batter’s box for his first plate appearance of the game, Tigers fans voiced their displeasure with a loud set of booing. This is going to happen all-season long. Check out the reaction from Tigers fans in the video below:

This is just beginning – and frankly, it’s deserved. The Astros scandal is one of the worst cheating scandals in recent sports history.
Many believe Major League Baseball wasn’t severe enough in regards to the punishment issued to Houston. It’s bizarre no disciplinary action has been issued to Astros players. This is just the beginning of fan’s harsh treatment towards Houston
Booing from opposing fans is normal – but the Astros are well-aware of why these fans are specifically booing.
