The Houston Astros’ path toward another World Series championship started off well on Friday afternoon, as the team topped the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series.
Justin Verlander led the way for the Astros. The Cy Young contender threw seven scoreless innings for the Astros in the 6-2 win.
“We got Verlandered,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said after the game.
Verlander dominated on the field. He had an adorable moment in the dugout, too.
The ace’s wife, Kate Upton, and their daughter were in the stands for the win.
Cut4 tweeted out an adorable video of Upton and their daughter waving to Verlander from the stands.
