Last October, Bubba Wallace earned his first NASCAR Cup Series win in a rain-shortened Yellawood 500 at Talledega Superspeedway.

Not only was it the first victory of Wallace's career, but it was also the first time that 23XI Racing, the venture owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, wound up in the winner's circle. Today, Wallace will try to duplicate that feat.

Prior to this afternoon's Geico 500, Wallace tweeted a message to his followers.

"Let's go for a repeat," he wrote, tagging 23XI as well as sponsors Toyota and McDonald's.

This will be Wallace's second start at Talladega. Unlike when he won in the fall, Wallace will not be racing in poor conditions this afternoon.

The forecast at Talladega calls for sun and temperatures in the low 80s. Today's GEICO 500 will begin at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.

Brad Keselowski won last year's race, the fourth time he has won the event in his career.
