She'll be competing soon.
The 2018 Winter Olympics are here. The games will span just over two weeks of competition.
One of the United States' best medal hopes is a skier. No, we're not talking about Lindsay Vonn -- although she's in contention as well.
We're talking about Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin. The 22-year-old skier heads into the 2018 Winter Olympics as one of the favorites to walk away with a gold medal.
Four years ago, Shiffrin became the youngest champion in slalom in Olympic alpine skiing at just 18-years-old. She beat out Austrians Marlies Schild and Kathrin Zettel to claim gold in the slalom.
Shiffrin currently leads the World Cup overall standings as well as the slalom discipline. She made her World Cup debut at just 15.
The women's slalom is slated for February 14. Shiffrin looks to claim yet another gold medal in just a few days.
Meet her below.
We wish her well.
