Here's The Incredible Shot That Won Team USA Gold In Curling

Team USA curling in action.

If you're just waking up on Saturday morning, you'll be happy to hear that Team USA won another gold medal overnight - and this one was about as unlikely as it gets.

The United States men's curling team, which started the Olympics off with a 2-4 record and almost found themselves eliminated early, staged an incredible run to eventually make the knockout round and emerge victorious with the gold medal.

Overnight, Team USA, led by skip John Shuster, took on Sweden in a gold medal match they weren't supposed to win.

In the eighth end, with the score tied 5-5, Shuster scored a double-knockout that resulted in five points and effectively ended the match. Sweden narrowed the gap to 10-7, but it wasn't enough to undo the damage.

Here's the shot. Shuster knows the match is over once he's pulled it off:

After the win, the Americans celebrated with the anthem.

Congrats to Shuster and his teammates on bringing home the gold. Curling was already one of the more popular Winter Olympics sports in America - this won't do anything to change that.
