Serena Williams certainly got the best of Maria Sharapova on Monday, when they faced off in the first round of the 2019 U.S. Open. Not only did Sharapova suffer a crushing loss, but she also was on the receiving end of a cruel joke.

Williams has defeated Sharapova in 19-straight matches. Her dominance was on full display yesterday, needing only two sets to beat her rival.

Once the match was over, Williams' husband decided to show that he's mastered the art of trolling.

Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, unbuttoned his jacket to reveal his shirt which said "D.A.R.E." The abbreviation stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, an education program that tries to prevent drug use.

In 2016, Sharapova revealed that she failed a drug test due to meldonium being in her system. The International Tennis Federation suspended her two years for taking a banned substance.

You can see the shirt Ohanian wore here:

It's hard to tell exactly why Ohanian felt the need to troll Sharapova. Nonetheless, it was a clever tactic by Williams' husband.

Sharapova's return to tennis hasn't been nearly as successful as she planned. As for Williams, she'll continue her pursuit of her 24th major title.

Williams faces Caty McNally in the second round of the U.S. Open on Wednesday.
