In June, rumors emerged that former NFL star tight end Shannon Sharpe was a leading candidate to join FOX Sports 1's upcoming Skip Bayless-helmed debate show. According to a new report by Awful Announcing's Andrew Bucholtz, that is coming to fruition.
It looks like Skip Bayless has found his next debate partner. There were reports last month that ex-NFL star Shannon Sharpe (who had previously debated Bayless as a guest host on ESPN’s First Take) was a “leading candidate” to join Bayless’ yet-to-be-named show at FS1, and an Awful Announcing source now says that “It’ll be Shannon Sharpe with Skip Bayless.” When asked for comment, a Fox spokesman said “No comment from us on this one at this time.”
Sharpe previously appeared on CBS' The NFL Today until 2014, when he and Dan Marino were replaced by Tony Gonzalez and Bart Scott. He currently cohosts a Sirius NFL Radio show alongside Bob Papa. Sharpe had also appeared on Bayless' former show, ESPN's First Take, in the past, and has frequently bashed his new co-star on Twitter.

There will certainly be plenty of debate, which as we know, is embraced by FOX Sports 1 brass. Will the show pull viewers as counter-programming to First Take? That is yet to be seen.
