Soccer Star On Donald Trump’s Tweet: “I’ll Play For Free If I Can Smash Your Face In That Bowl"

Hey - it's Cinco de Mayo.

Americans (including myself) love to celebrate the holiday with a cold one or by visiting the nearest Mexican restaurant for chips and salsa and tequila, even those who have no idea what the holiday actually represents for the Mexican people. Most don't realize it's meant to commemorate the Mexican Army's surprising victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, not Mexico's Independence Day.

It's not just your average Americans who loosely celebrate the holiday though, presidential candidates get in on the misinterpreted fun as well. On Thursday, Republican front runner Donald Trump shared this interesting post on Twitter wishing everyone a happy Cinco de Mayo.

Many took offense to the post, like USMNT player Brad Evans who fired back at Trump on Twitter.

There's never a dull day with Trump.
