The United States Women’s National Team is set to face Sweden in its third game of the group stage in the 2019 World Cup. The team’s best offensive weapon – Alex Morgan – will be back in the lineup.
Morgan, after scoring five goals in the team’s opener vs. Thailand, sat out the team’s second game against Chile. She’s back – and she’s serving as captain.
Morgan will be joined by Alyssa Naeher, Kelley O’Hara, Abby Dahlkemper, Becky Sauerbrunn, Crystal Dunn, Lindsey Horan, Samantha Mewis, Rose Lavelle, Tobin Heath and Megan Rapinoe.
Julie Ertz is sitting the contest out due to injury, but she’s expected to be back when the knockout round begins.
