Carli Lloyd has proven over the past decade that she's an exceptional soccer player, winning two World Cups with the United States Women's National Team. And yet, the most recent questions she's faced have revolved around her potentially joining the NFL.
Speculation regarding her future in the NFL started when she connected on a few field goal attempts during a joint practice between the Eagles and Ravens.
According to several reports, one team actually offered Lloyd a chance to play this preseason. It'd be interesting to see if she could be an immediate factor in the league.
Regardless of all the takes being made about Lloyd, it appears she is going to keep matters close to the vest.
Following the USWNT's victory over Portugal, FS1's Alexi Lalas asked Lloyd if she would reveal which team offered her a tryout.
"My lips are sealed," Lloyd said in response to Lalas' question. On the flip side, she did give a little insight to her future plans though.
"First and foremost I'm a soccer player. I want to hopefully continue on through the Olympics," Lloyd said. "We'll see what happens, but anything's possible in life I guess."
Lloyd added fuel to the fire on Thursday due to her "Fly Eagles Fly" celebration after scoring a goal in the 52nd minute.
With the regular season just about to begin, most of the chatter about Lloyd playing football will come to an end. However, it's possible that speculation resurfaces during the offseason.
Do you think we'll see Lloyd in the NFL?
