After weeks of riding the bench followed by a game-winning assist in the Champions League this past week, Chelsea starlet Christian Pulisic finally got his chance. And he made the absolute most possible with it.
Chelsea took on Burnley today with the USMNT star getting his first start in the Premier League since August.
He quickly made his presence known, challenging Burnley constantly before finally breaking through for his first-ever Premier League goal in the 21st minute.
But Pulisic wasn't done. Right before halftime, Pulisic got the ball in the box and used his other foot to slide it past Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, Pulisic put an exclamation point on his day with a third goal. A header off a corner kick completed his hat trick.
This week has unquestionably been Pulisic's breakout week.
He had the aforementioned game-winning assist against Ajax in the Champions League, finding Michy Batshuayi for the winner earlier this week.
The performance this week capped off months of struggles for club and country.
But if a performance like this doesn't earn him Frank Lampard's continued support in the starting XI, nothing will.
The game is being played on NBCSN.
