Meet The Boyfriend Of USWNT Soccer Star Sophia Smith

USWNT forward Sophia Smith has already made a name for herself during the 2023 World Cup, recording two goals and an assist in the opening match against Vietnam. 

Smith, 22, has become a fan favorite in the United States over the past year. After all, we're talking about the reigning MVP of the NWSL. 

Off the field, Smith is dating Cardinals rookie wideout Michael Wilson. He was selected with the 94th pick in this year's draft. 

Unsurprisingly, Smith was with Wilson when he received the most important phone call of his life.

"You did it baby," Smith wrote on Instagram. "Through the highs and especially the lows, you never stopped doing everything right. it hasn’t been easy but it’s been worth it. I’m so proud of you."

Smith and Wilson have been dating since 2019. They met at Stanford University. 

Prior to the start of the 2023 World Cup, Smith and Wilson went back to Stanford for a brief trip.

Wilson isn't with Smith in New Zealand right now for the World Cup. That's because training camp is underway for all 32 NFL teams. 

That being said, Wilson will most likely watch the USWNT's next match against Portugal.
