The 2019 Women’s World Cup is more than a week over, though the United States women’s national team continues to be put in the spotlight.
The Americans have generated a ton of headlines during – and after – their World Cup championship, with no player garnering more attention than Megan Rapinoe.
The outspoken star has not held back, neither with her play on the field nor her opinions off of it.
Of course, the openly-gay star, who’s been highly critical of President Trump, has plenty of haters. She has several more supporters, though, as evidenced by the following video.
A video of Rapinoe interacting with fans has now been viewed more than 2 million times.

Rapinoe had been criticized by some for a video of her signing an autograph for a fan at The ESPYs. Some argued that Rapinoe wasn’t paying enough attention to the young fan.
Of course, it’s ridiculous to criticize a famous athlete for an out-of-context, specific moment like that.
Fans of Rapinoe have since defended her by retweeting the video above.

Rapinoe was the biggest star at the Women’s World Cup, scoring five goals in the knockout round, including the go-ahead goal in the final against the Netherlands.
