Just a few weeks ago, the sports media world learned that Max Kellerman was no longer part of ESPN’s “First Take.”
Kellerman partnered with Stephen A. Smith on the show for five years before his departure earlier this month. Don’t feel too bad for Kellerman, though.
The longtime ESPN personality landed his own show, which debuted this week. During Tuesday afternoon’s episode of “This Just in” fans all had the same reaction to the new show.
It feels just like another ESPN show: “Get Up.” New York Post media insider Andrew Marchand pointed that out early in the show.
Check it out.

Last week, during an appearance on Ebro in The Morning, Stephen A. confirmed he wanted Kellerman off “First Take.”
“The rumor’s accurate in terms of me wanting him off the show. Let’s get that out the way — yes, I did,” Stephen A. said. “We don’t have a bad relationship. I think he’s a real good guy, I appreciate what he did for the show, we were number one for five years, we stayed number one, and I appreciate that.”
In the end, Stephen A. got what he wanted and Kellerman got his own show. We’ll just have to wait and see if the latter can make it his own, rather than a copy of ESPN’s morning show.
