Kawhi Leonard’s free agency left many in the dark, including multiple media insiders. No one really knew what the superstar forward was going to do.
In the end, a few pundits and reporters came out with some egg on their faces for premature reporting, but FS1’s Chris Broussard might have gotten it the worst. Broussard spent plenty of time throwing everything at the wall to see what stuck, and in the end, his multiple reports indicating the Lakers were the favorites did not.
In this week’s edition of the Jay and Dan Podcast, TSN’s Jay Onrait, a former FS1 employee, shredded Broussard for his inaccuracy. Onrait took aim at some other reporters and analysts as well, but saved his worst for Broussard.
The knockout blow came when he called the longtime media personality the “biggest f—ing fraud in the history of sports media.”
Via Awful Announcing:
“Everyone knew nothing, nothing! And they were saying that they knew everything! Chris Broussard, who worked at Fox and is the biggest f—ing fraud in the history of sports media, ever, ESPN kicked him out, Fox kicked him out, I don’t know what he’s doing now (editorial note: Broussard is still at Fox, appearing on their FS1 studio shows as a “FS1 NBA Analyst” and co-hosting The Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio with Rob Parker), saying that the Clippers were out of it for sure and it was down to the Lakers and Raptors, he knew nothing! They knew nothing! It’s all bulls–t!”
Seriously, Onrait destroyed the man and did not hold back for one second.
You can read the transcript of all of Onrait’s rant, as well as a rundown of some of the other issues Broussard has had in recent years, in this Awful Announcing post.
