Mike Golic has been one of the most popular figures in the sports media industry for the past few decades due to his stint at ESPN. He’s no longer with the network, but he still plans on being a prominent voice in the sports world.
Golic became a star in large part because of his success as a co-host on “Mike & Mike.” That show eventually came to a halt though, opening the door for a partnership between Golic and Trey Wingo.
ESPN ended “Golic & Wingo” last July as part of a major change to its programming schedule. Instead of finding a new radio show, Golic moved over to an analyst role for ESPN’s college football coverage.
Now that his run at ESPN is over, Golic is ready to embrace the next chapter of his career. During an interview with Richard Deitsch of The Athletic, he revealed that he plans on having a podcast.
“So at this point, I’m deciding between a couple of different podcasts, a couple of different college football things, and something that I think will be a lot of fun,” Golic told The Athletic.

Plenty of former ESPN personalities are having success in the podcast industry, like Ryen Russillo and Bill Simmons. It wouldn’t surprise us if Golic has success in that field as well.
